Beverley Preece

I have arranged many masterclasses with eminent pianists, workshops for teachers and concerts for the Elmitt Academy, as well as organising our round of the EPTA Piano Competition for the last 6 years.

I also work as a piano teacher for Hertfordshire Music Service, teaching at North Herts Music School, Mid Herts Music centre and Hitchin Girls School.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels. Many students have gained distinctions in their grade exams and been very successful in the EPTA competition and local festivals.

I love attending piano concerts, courses and masterclasses and continuing to develop my own playing and performing.

I have attended Chetham's International Piano Summer School every year since 2007 and studied with many fantastic pianists there as well as making many like-minded friends. Some of the teachers I have met there have come to give us masterclasses and recitals.

I first met Kate when I was a 16-year-old music student at North Herts College and she became an inspirational teacher for many years and a life-long friend, so it's wonderful for me to work at her academy.

I later studied piano with Jillian Skerry when I studied for a degree in music. I also did a postgraduate diploma in instrumental teaching at Reading University.
